Narrative based is basically a story line. Artists can feature in the 'Story' but not always. Genres include Rap, Romance etc. An example of a narrative based music video is: Daniel Powter 'Bad Day'
Cinematic
Cinematic is the high production value. As if it were of story line 'Film Like' quality. Examples of this include 'Stan' by Eminem and 'My favorite game' by the cardigans
Studio Based
Studio based music videos tend to be shot in one location and that's in the studio. Examples of this include: The foo fighters "The pretender" and Take that, "Rule the world"
