Styles of music video
Narrative based -
Narrative based is basically a story line. Artists can feature in the 'Story' but not always. Genres include Rap, Romance etc. An example of a narrative based music video is: Daniel Powter 'Bad Day'
Cinematic
Cinematic is the high production value. As if it were of story line 'Film Like' quality. Examples of this include 'Stan' by Eminem and 'My favorite game' by the cardigans
Studio Based
Studio based music videos tend to be shot in one location and that's in the studio. Examples of this include: The foo fighters "The pretender" and Take that, "Rule the world"

Intertextuality
Intertextuality is a term that refers to other existing texts such as the song by The Wanted "Walks like Rihanna"

A Parody is when a someone or something is making fun of another text. for example: Hot Chip "i feel better"

Pastiche is when you are working seriously within another genre and/or time frame

Brief
Media Brief
I have been given a new brief for my A2 course work portfolio. This portfolio will include:
Making a music 'Promo' video that will be between 2 and 5 minuites long
I will make a digi-pack for its CD release
I will also make an advertisement for a magazine to do with my music video.
